Happy New Year!!
Dear Parents/Guardians:
I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday and New Years together with their families. As we enter the second half of the school year, our upper grade students become faced with the New York State Assessments. Grades 3 – 5 have their ELAs in January and their math assessments in March. The school work and homework will become more demanding as the weeks and months continue.
Fairly soon you will be seeing a PTA Website that will be filled with information and upcoming events. One of our newest parents, Brett Lipton is a strong proponent, as am I, for the further development of technology in the schools and the impetus for developing this new website. So I thank him in advance.
We are looking forward to the beginning of the PARP program which begins with a kick off assembly at the end of the month. We are also looking forward to seeing some terrific science fair projects this year! Remember, experiments only!! No models!! Why? Experiments teach and help children learn by seeing and doing.
Parents and kids – keep writing your comments.
Sincerely,
Your principal, Mr. Golub

Thanks for the kudos. With everyones help & participation I think we will be able to accomplish wonders.
I think that parents, students, teachers, staff & community members will be amazed at how they can help our system become more enriched & fulfilling. It will be an exploration of everyones desire to see our school accomplish more than we ever have by allowing people to assist us where they previously were unaware that they could. I hope our efforts will accomplish our goal of involving, educating & informing as many people as possible.
Regards & best wished for a new year,
BML

Well as a computer graphics art professor and a teacher in art education, count me in. If you need help with the website or a software person for desktop publishing, web design, graphic design or digital photography, let me know.
Also I want to mention, that as a new teacher at Woods Road elementary School, I am just amazed by the love, kindness and genuine concern for the staff and students in our school. Mr. Golub, you are amazing. You genuinely care and are proactive in getting the message of kindness and tolerance toward others across. It does not go unnoticed by faculty or by the students who love you. Your February letter was beautiful. If I can help you in anyway, just say the word.
I am so pleased and honored to work with all the wonderful people at Woods Road. Thank you to everyone that has been kind and helpful to me in my first year as the art teacher for the school. Don’t forget to occasionally check the art gallery to see the children’s work. Please feel free to place suggestions on projects you would like to see in the future on this blog.
